Preparing Used Eye Glasses for Final Donation to Recycle for Sight Project

Repackaging Used Eyeglasses for Lions' Recycle for Sight Project

One of the major community service projects of lions clubs is Recycle for Sight program, which is to collect used eye glasses from the community, prepare them for packaging before shipping them to our lions Canadian central locations for final processing prior to sending them out to places all over the world where used eye glasses can be reused for free.

On October 21, 2015, Lion Sisko Ahola, Ilkka Ahola, Charlie Wang from Toronto Suomi Lions Club, Lion Raija Rosenthale and Lion Carol Minnich from Toronto Leaside Centennial Lions Club got together at Toronto Finnish Home. They helped each other, sorted out good eye glasses, put them into separate boxes, and will give them to Lion Jeffrey Friedman, chairperson of recycle for sight project on Saturday October 24, 2015.

All together, 698 pairs of good ones were repackaged and will be donated! Wow!
